My Song of Life

God has given me a song and it is my life. I hope you enjoy reading how He has blessed me and how He can bless you too.

Music is a huge part of who I am. I love singing and feel God has blessed me with a voice to use for His glory.

Wow...So long

As you can tell I'm not so good at this blogging thing. It's been way too long since I wrote. I am now a comfortable 30 year old, no longer freaking about her age. Now I am rethinking what I do for a living. I currently work in an office in the accounting department. I can hack it, it's just not my ultimate goal. So after talking with a friend, who is also a teacher, I have decided to look into getting a masters degree. In what you might ask? I have a degree in education and a teaching certificate in WA. I am wanting to go into school administration, specifically school counseling. I miss being with kids and feel so natural when I am around them. This whole ordeal scares me. I have not ever considered myself a good student. Sure, I got good grades, I knew I had to get a degree, but school has not been my thing. I am hoping that by getting into a field that I am truly choosing it will be better. My mom put it to me this way, "Where will you be in 2 years if you don't go for it?" Leave it to mom to be all smart. But that is a good way of looking at it. So, this weekend I'll work on my resume and get some applications filled out for teaching for this next year. I substitute taught for 3 years, 2 in CA and 1 in WA, but never seemed to be in the right place at the right time to get a full-time position. So here I go again, looking for that job opportunity. Please pray for this endeavor. I am trusting God to be in this completely.

I am also getting into music more. I will be attending a songwriters workshop in September in Abilene. Why Abilene you ask? Because it is in conjunction with the ACU Lectures. It is the weekend before and Michael Card is going to help facilitate, along with Mr. Ike Graul from Portland, OR. I am very excited to see what kind of help and networking this will bring my way. Do you know how expensive it is to fly to Abilene? I've been told to look at Dallas and Midland also, but they are just as expensive. Oh well, I am going and nothing short of Christ coming will stop me. Well, I hope this somewhat catches you all up on my life. I would love to hear from any and all of you out there.
